Brisbane · Australia & APAC · Late 2026 / early 2027
You’ll never wear the same outfit as someone else.
The Anomaly is a curated marketplace for emerging streetwear, the labels that aren’t in Culture Kings, aren’t on The Iconic, and aren’t waiting for Hypebeast to notice. You don’t browse a catalogue here. You build one.
Online late 2026 / early 2027. The markets start before that.
Why we exist
Every shopping app shows you the same twenty brands.
Open any of them and it’s the same wall of product from the same labels, most of which you’ll never buy. The feed is where you meet a brand now, and the feed has been sold to whoever could afford it.
Meanwhile the best emerging labels in the country can’t get in the door. A spot in someone else’s catalogue costs 20-35% of their revenue before a single sale, and that’s if they’re accepted at all. So they stay on Instagram, selling to the same two hundred people who already found them.
There’s a gap in the middle. We built the thing that goes in it.
Every label on The Anomaly is here because someone chose it. Not because they could pay for it.
For shoppers
A feed that’s actually yours.
You follow brands, not products.
Every label you keep becomes part of your own boutique. Every one you pass is gone for good. No re-serving, no sponsored slots, no second chances. What’s left is a feed you built on purpose.
Hand-curated. Every single label.
No open sign-up. Every brand is scored against five standards before it goes live: aesthetic distinctiveness, founder authenticity, product quality, momentum, cultural fit. Fail one badly and you’re out. Nothing gets in on volume.
First, not last.
You see these labels before anyone else does. Most drops run under 100 units. Sold out means sold out, and the archive stays up so you can walk back through everything a brand has ever released.
How it works
- 01
Build your feed.
Go through the brands one at a time. Keep the ones you want, kill the ones you don’t.
- 02
Get the drops.
New releases from your labels only. No noise, no filler, no “you might also like.”
- 03
Meet them in real life.
Every brand you follow can turn up at an Anomaly market. Same labels, same room, one afternoon.
For brands
5% for life. First twenty-five labels only.
The Iconic takes 30% or more. Wholesale takes half and pays you in sixty days. We take 5%, locked for life for the first twenty-five brands, 8% for life for the next twenty-five, 12% standard after that.
You get cart and checkout from day one, your own world instead of a slot in a product grid, an audience that arrived looking for exactly what you make, and a founder who’ll actually answer the DM.
Lowest cut in the market
5% for the first 25, 8% for the next 25. Locked for life, no renegotiation.
Your own world
Brand page, cinematic, archive. Not a row of thumbnails.
Real buyers
A curated audience, not price-shoppers hunting a discount code.
Editorial
Signal features, founder interviews, and market spotlights at no cost.
On the roadmap
Three features powering your personalised store
The Anomaly isn’t a generic marketplace. Here’s what makes it yours.

Launching with platformDrop Feed
Personalised discovery
Swipe through brands matched to your aesthetic. One brand at a time. Mobile-first discovery. Your feed surfaces brands you'd actually wear, not generic trending products.
Launching with platformBrand Cinematics

Coming soonIRL markets · running from day one
Not a stall. A show.
Streetwear was never meant to be an online checkout. Before the platform is live, The Anomaly is already out there, curated pop-ups across Australia with a live DJ, funded stunts, mystery boxes opened over the mic, and a room full of labels you can’t buy anywhere else in the country.
Brands ship us a box. We run the room. They keep 65-75% of retail and get paid the same day.
Locations drop 48 hours out.
Founding 50
Twenty-five spots at 5%. Then the rate goes up.
The Founding 50 is fifty brands and two rates, both locked for life. The first twenty-five hold 5%, not for a year, not until we raise, for life. Brands twenty-six to fifty hold 8%. Everyone after that pays 12%.
First pick of market dates, hero placement, and a founder feature in Signal come with both tiers. The 5% doesn’t come back.
25 spots at 5%
Ethan · FounderFrom the founder
I grew up an anomaly. I'm building one.
Ethan, 24. Founder of The Anomaly. A regional Queensland kid whose only shop was a website, now building the store he wished he had, for the underdog brands nobody's watching.
I grew up in regional Queensland, where streetwear wasn't something you could walk into. No stores, no scene. If you wanted in on the culture, you had one option: the internet. For me that meant Culture Kings online, a screen, a cart, and my imagination filling in the rest. I loved it enough to build my life around it.
Then the culture I loved went mainstream. The same fits on every second person. The emerging brands doing the best work were getting buried, or getting found and gutted by platforms taking 35% just to bury them in a catalogue.
So I built The Anomaly, a store you experience, not a grid you scroll. Real discovery, real personality, built to give the little guys the reach they deserve. Built in Brisbane, by an underdog, for underdogs.

I grew up in regional Queensland, where streetwear wasn't something you could walk into. There were no stores, no scene, no rack to flick through on a weekend. If you wanted in on the culture, you had one option: the internet. For me that meant Culture Kings online, a screen, a simple cart, and an imagination filling in everything the website couldn't show me. I didn't get the music, the lights, the feeling of the room, I got the products. And I still loved it enough to build my life around it.
The idea for The Anomaly started from watching a video: Simon Beard, the owner of Culture Kings, on a podcast, breaking down the come-up of the brand, how he built a small market stall for schoolies into one of the biggest names in the country, worth hundreds of millions. I was hooked, not just on the numbers but on what he'd made: a brand that was a place, a culture you wanted to belong to. Then corporate ownership acquired Culture Kings and sanded down the parts that made it special. The same fits were turning up on every second person in the country. The thing that pulled me in had gone mainstream, and the love for the culture left.
So here's the story of The Anomaly: online shopping for the small brands of quality and design that get lost in the sea of underground names. Most of the stores on the big platforms get taken down after a short while, buried or 'sold out'. Some make it for a moment before they're devoured by the platforms, where the founder keeps 65% of the sale and the other 35% gets 'lost' in the catalogue. I've seen some of the best stores online get taken down in a matter of months.
So I built The Anomaly. An anomaly is something that doesn't quite fit. The Anomaly is a new kind of online store that lets customers experience a real store online. Rather than browsing a grid of products, customers experience a store that is totally interactive and changes and evolves with every visit. It's not just a website; it's a new way to shop online. I wanted to build a store that allowed for real discovery and a true personality, and to give emerging brands the chance to reach a huge audience of people who are passionate about shopping and excited to discover new things. That's what The Anomaly does.
Combat sports run through the core of The Anomaly. I'm a boxer, I've trained Muay Thai and a little BJJ. Fighters are some of the greatest athletes in the world, producing the most inspiring individuals generation after generation. And as we all know, fight culture and streetwear go hand in hand. It's not a marketing angle. This is just who I am.
I'll be honest about where I'm at. This is my first business. I'm building it solo, studying a commerce degree alongside it, and I don't have a playbook or a co-founder or a war chest. What I do have is a refusal to quit when things get hard, and a lifelong obsession with owning something of my own and being the best at it. I'm still learning to build a team around the parts that aren't my strength, but I'd rather call that out now than pretend I've got it all figured out.
The name says the rest. I've always been an anomaly: the underdog nobody's watching, the one that wins anyway. The Anomaly exists to find the others, the brands, the founders, the shoppers who never fit the mainstream and never wanted to. Built in Brisbane, by an underdog, for underdogs. This is only the start.

The story before the drop.
Long-form on the labels worth knowing. Founder interviews, the fight-and-fashion crossover, the market recaps, and why a piece exists at all.
It isn’t a blog and it isn’t content marketing. It’s the reason the curation means something, if we’re going to tell you a label is worth your money, we should be able to tell you why.
Get in before it opens.
